Spring is officially here and there are plenty of events to welcome the new season. From music to wine and more, Durango never fails to host exciting events.
The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown is back from April 22-24. The line up includes 21 bands all bring live string plunking, barn dance, and boot-tapping bluegrass music. Since 1995, the streets fill with musicians as they take over local venues like The Animas City Theater, The Wildhorse Saloon, and The Elks Lodge for concerts and spontaneous jams. This year they are hosting the first annual band contest with the 1st place prize of a 2023 mainstage show and recording session. April 29 – May 1 will be a celebration of food and wine with the Durango Wine Experience. The weekend will be filled with seminars and tastings featuring wines, spirits, and craft beers. The walkabout is a “sophisticated bar-hop” as downtown Durango features a variety of libations. The top local chefs and international wineries, distilleries, and breweries will be showcased at the Grand Tasting.
