Your Mountain Oasis: North County
North of Durango on Highway 550 N. is an area generally referred to as "North County". This area includes many different subdivisions and neighborhoods as well as truly private properties. These include Tamarron, Castle Rock, Cascade, Electra Lake, Glacier Club, The Needles, and Lake Purgatory - all offering true Colorado living. There are plenty of options from ski-in/ski-out condos, luxury golf course homes, and private mountain retreats to enjoy. Purgatory Ski Resort is a major area attraction for year round activities as well as plenty of lakes, creeks, hiking trails, and camping spots to explore. This corridor leads you to Silverton, CO: the next little mountain town in the county to the north - San Juan County (not to be confused with San Juan County, NM just to the south).
