Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) is welcoming back Frontier Airlines! The company’s slogan “low fares done right” will offer affordable nonstop flights to Las Vegas’ McCarran Intl. Airport and Denver Intl. Airport as soon as early June. Having Frontier servicing Durango again will be the fourth major US airline visitors and locals have to choose from. Between United, Delta, American Airlines, and now Frontier there will be nonstop flights to Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

“DRO is the primary regional airport for southwest Colorado, northwest New Mexico, and the entire Four Corners Region. DRO welcomed over 390,000 passengers in 2019, and contributes $293 million annually to the regional economy,” states the official website of the local airport. Although they also note that the facility has not grown to accommodate more traffic. We are eager for the opportunities that his will bring and look forward to seeing the positive economic impact on the area!
