The Annual La Plata County Fair starts on August 10th at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. This 5 day event has been celebrated for 71 years and offers a place where locals and visitors celebrate their animals, food, gardening, and personal creations. Displays of livestock, homemade food, 4H projects, and more will be presented as contestants compete for the blue ribbon! Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is bringing the Durango Blues Train to the rails for another year. On August 25-27 the train will be filled with six live bands and beer! With open cars to dance, Colorado craft beer, cider, wine, and amazing views through the San Juan Forest, the energy will be ecstatic! San Juan Brewfest is returning with two days of beer tasting fun! August 26th is VIP day with special commemorative giveaways and unlimited tastings.
