As we look towards next weekend, Durango is once again home to a cultural event and celebration—the Durango Celtic Festival. Events will be held at the Henry Strater Theatre as well as the Irish Embassy Pub. The Celtic music will represent Ireland, Scotland, the Hebrides, and Cape Breton. From Thursday evening on, the weekend will be filled with a variety of performances, a Ceilidh, opportunities to practice musical skills, a documentary, and fun –all in downtown in Durango.
One of the unique aspects of the Durango Celtic festival is the focus on workshops. Attendees may enjoy learning from experts on the mandolin, recording and production, the Irish fiddle, whistle, singing, Irish step-dance, Scottish fiddle, and more.
Musicians from all over perform at this event. Groups RUNA, HighTime, Réalta, and pairs Ed Miller and Rich Brotherton and Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas perform on the stage. Tickets for the festival may be purchased by the day, per event, or for the entire weekend.
We often note the variety Durango offers for events and activities. There are so many ways to enjoy lifestyle and culture in our town, and we love to feature what’s going on. It’s the best place to live and work, with so much to do. Take a look at the website for more information: https://durangocelticfestival.com/tickets/
