Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or just like to paddle around on a stand up paddleboard it’s no secret that gear can be very costly. At Durango Outdoor Exchange locals can bring in their used gear, apparel, and more and if it is usable, put up for sale. The prices are based on the condition of the gear and current MSRP prices of similar items. Then, when the items sell, the consignor receives a percentage. The business focuses on quality gear from well known brands like Patagonia, Osprey, Eddie Bauer, Thule, etc. and covers activities like cycling, backpacking, boating, climbing, skiing/snowboarding, and more seasonally.
The consignment store first opened in 2014 and has since grown and moved locations to provide ample space for all consignment gear as well as some retail items. Owners Jen and Chase LaCroix established the store on their love for everything outdoors and the staff is always knowledgeable and passionate about the gear stock. This small business has filled a niche in an outdoor forward community where we all have camping gear, skis, and bikes built up in our garages. This offers an opportunity for new and aspiring outdoors people to try different activities at a lesser cost than normal. Anyone can shop here; you don’t have to be a consignor can enjoy these pre-loved items!
With the colder weather in the air, DOE is now accepting and selling winter items such as jackets, snow pants, skis, and more!
