It’s Thanksgiving week, and we have much to celebrate be to be thankful for. We are committed to the real estate profession because we are convinced there’s no better place to live and work, and to raise our kids. We love helping others realize their dreams to own real estate in La Plata County, and we are thankful to be part of this community.
This week there are a couple notable community events. The first is the Turkey Trot, sponsored by Mercy Family Medicine. Start your Thanksgiving Day by joining others at Fort Lewis College for a 1-mile kids’ fun run or a 5-mile route. The kids’ run is free, and the money raised from the 5-mile run will be donated to local charities.
On Friday, November 23 (the day after Thanksgiving), Singing with Santa will kick off the holiday season in Downtown Durango. At Main Avenue and 8th Street, Santa will arrive at 6 pm. The crowd will follow Santa to Buckley Park, singing Christmas carols. Then, there will be a countdown to light the Community Christmas Tree. The first 1,000 kids will receive a free glow stick, and there will also be hot chocolate, cookies, and pictures with Santa (bring your own camera). This is a fun evening to enjoy Downtown Durango and the start of the Christmas season!
From all of us at The Durango Team, Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you and your families and friends enjoy this special holiday.
