The first weekend of the month has plethora of red, white and blue events. Saturday, July 2nd has a BBQ, Bulls & Beer Competition, Street Dance, Drone Show, and Fireworks. Sunday activities include a Veterans Breakfast and an All-American Gourmet Breakfast, Freedom 5K, SW Civic Winds & Durango Choral Society Concert, BBQ & Bands Picnic, and the patriotic Stars & Stripes Parade on Monday the Fourth. With all of these events in town Durango, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun!
Throughout the month there are numerous concerts around town at venues like Fox Fire Farms, The Powerhouse, The Fairgrounds, Three Springs Plaza, Ska Brewing, Buckley Park, and James Ranch Grill. Bands showcasing all genres of music will play including Maddy & Kev, The Casual Fridays, Kirk James, Tim Sullivan, Brendan Shafer, Lyle Lovett and his Large Band, and the Smelter Mountain Boys.
Ongoing events such as the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Cascade Canyon Express Excursions, Bar D Chuckwagon Suppers, True Western Roundup, and the Durango Farmers Market continue through the month. The City of Durango and local sponsors are hosting Movies in the Park including the family friendly films The Sandlot, Sing 2, and Encanto this upcoming month in Buckley Park and the Durango Recreation Center Park.
