La Plata County CAR Numbers December/Year End

This week, we have the latest real estate numbers for La Plata County for the month of December, which also gives us the year-end numbers. The below charts show a detailed breakdown of several market segments in La Plata County, showing La Plata County as a whole, Durango In Town, Durango Rural, Bayfield In Town, Bayfield Rural, Ignacio In Town, Ignacio Rural, and Durango Mountain Area.

These charts indicate the statistics and key metrics for single family homes and townhouses/condos, including new listings, sold listings, median sales price, and more. They compare December 2019 to December 2018. We also see the rolling 12-month median sales price for single family homes and townhouses/condos in these segments. We always appreciate these charts to be able to spot trends within our local market and compare results to previous years.

La Plata county single family homes had an increase in sold listings for the month of December, although there was a slight drop in the median sales price. Year to date, we see an increase in new listings, sold listings, and median sales price. Year to date, the median sales price and total number of sold listings are just a notch above last year’s numbers, but it’s a positive outcome for the year. The La Plata County townhouse/condo market had an increase in new listings for the month of December, and a jump in the median sales price; however, there was one sold transaction less December 2019 compared to December 2018. Year to date, the La Plata County townhouse/condo market had an increase in new listings, sold listings (by one transaction), and median sales price, but these numbers are still very similar to those of 2018.

 

Durango in town single family homes had more sold listings and a higher median sales price in December of 2019 compared to 2018, and year to date there were more new listings and a higher median sales price, even though there was a drop in the total number of sold listings. In the Durango in town townhouse/condo market there were more new listings, sold listings, and a higher median sales price December 2019 compared to 2018. Year to date there were more new listings, but fewer sold listings and a lower median sales price.

 

Bayfield had a standout year. Bayfield in town single family homes had more new listings, sold listings, and a higher median sales price. The Bayfield in town townhouse/condo market had more new listings, sold listings, and a higher median sales price as well. Bayfield rural single family homes had more new listings, more sold listings and a higher median sales price.
