Durango’s favorite music festival is in town through the month of July. If you haven’t had a chance to go to this spectacular event, it’s not too late; there are several shows left. The goal of Music in the Mountains is to “To produce an exceptional summer music festival with musicians of the highest caliber; entertain, educate and delight audiences with the richness of classical music, and complement concerts with year-round educational programs for youth.” It’s been a fixture in Durango’s history for more than thirty years. Over 100 world-renowned musicians entertain audiences throughout the weeks of the festival.
This year, the primary in-town location will be the Community Concert Hall at FLC, with other locations around Durango. On Wednesday, July 17, there will be a Family Concert: Paddington Bear’s First Concert, also held at the Community Concert Hall. This will be entertaining as it shows Paddington Bear at his first concert! A picnic dinner is included with the ticket prior to the concert. This is a fantastic way to expose kids to classical music, and a fun event for the whole family.
The Wells Group is a sponsor of Music in the Mountains, and we are proud to have such quality music in our town.
