September is a gorgeous month in Colorado as the weather starts to cool off and the leaves begin to turn colors. Events for this month are plentiful with everything from live music, chocolate tasting, festivals, and annual events such as the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Here our three picks you won’t want to miss!

Welcoming the new month, which just happens to be Library Card Sign Up Month, the Durango Public Library is hosting Book, Brats, and Brews on Thursday, September 1st. Hosted at the river front library, there will be live music, SKA beer, BBQ brats & hotdogs, and books from Friends of the Library! The event is free for library card holders and if you don’t’ already have one, you can sign up while you’re there!

The Whole Expo will be back at the Fairgrounds for their 26th year during the second weekend of September. There will be many booths offering holistic & ecological products, services, and seminars for all ages. For just $5 for both days, enjoy learning about different businesses and services from around the Four Corners.

Fort Lewis College is home to a championship cycling program and is hosting the Durango Fall Blaze promoting their program while all funds from the event go towards the FLC Cycling Scholarship and the program. There are six courses including gravel, mountain, and road races. Of course, there will be music, food, and brews as a celebration at the FLC clocktower afterwards!
