March in Durango offers warmer days and fun events. Spring skiing is in full swing and the town continues to celebrate winter with film and music.
Purgatory Resort’s Helluva Weekend celebration is from March 1st through 5th featuring fireworks, a balloon glow, live music, and “beach” parties. Uncle Clyde’s Run & Slide Race is included with costume fun team races. For those visiting, or for a great staycation, they are offering multi-night hotel discounts. The mountain will be open as usual for end-of-season runs as well!
Durango Film Festival is celebrating its 18th anniversary from March 1st through 5th with many independent films playing all over town. With a virtual viewing option as well, you can enjoy these films from the comfort of your own home. This five-day festival offers everything from adventure and education to stop-motion and documentary-style films.
March 24 and 25, the Durango Celtic Festival will be highlighting four modern and traditional Celtic bands. Runa, The Jeremiahs, On the Lash, and Téada will be playing at the Fort Lewis College Community Concert Hall with late-night sessions in downtown Durango.
