Cafes in Durango

Cafes in Durango

Durango is known for the many restaurants spanning the streets and among them are quaint little cafés offering a wide variety of coffees, teas, smoothies, and more. No matter the season, there is always a good drink. Whether it’s a cold brew to cool you down or a hot pumpkin spice latte when it’s snowing outside, these cafés can make it!

Durango Joes

Durango Joes now has 11 different locations between Durango, Aztec, and Farmington. The chain was started by a Durango couple in 2004 who sought out serving legendary coffee in a “community first” style. The baristas whip up favorites such as the Honey Bear, Avalanche, and Pombomb. They also serve homemade baked goods, sandwiches, and salads.

Durango Coffee Company

Founded in 1984, Durango Coffee Company has been roasting small batches of beans from around the world ever since. While the production is in Bodo, a homey café with vintage furniture to enjoy your beverage on gets busy downtown. The seating area has expanded thanks to Durango’s bump-out project for the summer. The large, yet cozy space, welcomes musicians for live sessions. A rotating seasonal drink special list as well as sandwiches, soups, salads, and parfaits menu never disappoints.

81301

81301 creates a unique experience where a glass partition allows you to see the small batches of beans getting roasted in house. The café on North Main fulfills the mission to simplify the coffee experience and to serve patrons fresh and delicious coffee! With a chic farmhouse fengshui, the space is light and welcoming. 81301 resides next to and is part of Durango Artisan Foods who creates and supports locally made goods.

Hermosa Cafe

Coffee is just the tip of the iceberg at Hermosa Cafe. Their menu expands from classic coffee, tea, and specialty coffee drinks to beer & spirits, quiche, burritos, sandwiches, toast, and more delicious snacks. Right on Main Avenue, this cozy cafe environment is a great place to sit down right in the hustle and bustle of town.

The Smiley Cafe

Located inside the historic Smiley Building, The Smiley Cafe offers an array of beverages including coffee, tea, wellness shots, and boba. They also have homemade goodies both sweet and savory to accompany. The community centric building is a great place to get some work done or relax outside in the grassy areas.

Taste

Taste, located on North Main, offers a beautiful menu of salads, sandwiches, bowls, crepes, and artisanal baked goods. These items are best served with one of their staple drinks including espresso, tea, smoothies, and other specials. Their coffee is fair trade, and locally sourced from Desert Sun Coffee Roasters.

These are just some of the many great cafes in Durango, CO serving classics like drip brew, lattes, americanos, and chai! Let us know if you have any questions about the local coffee shops here.
