Animas Chocolate Company
Established in 2011, Animas Chocolate Company is locally owned and operated, producing one-of-a-kind chocolate confections on Main Avenue. Named after the Animas River, where the shop’s story began, the artisanal handmade chocolatiering has expanded to include truffles, bon bons, caramels, chocolate bars, and hot chocolate, all crafted with care in-house and served at their store. Beautifully made pieces are available for purchase in the store and online as well as a variety of locations around town.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
What began as a single chocolate shop in Durango in 1981 is now a nationally recognized brand with over 250 franchise locations. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory still produces its core products in its 53,000 square foot Durango warehouse. Included in that is the Main Avenue shop that’s just a couple doors down from where it all started. Over 300 products are made in Durango including the infamous Bears and Peanut Butter Buckets alongside a plethora of other clusters, caramels, pretzels, creams, toffees, and more. Each location features handmade fudge and caramel apples crafted with traditional utensils and methods.
