Owned and operated by third-generation honey enthusiasts, Honeyville has become a namesake in the Durango area. Stemming from a love of natural resources in our area, there’s lots of delicious goodies made here to try.
Honeyville History
Dating back to the 1920s, a local man discovered the magic of fresh and local honey. The Honey House, originally located east of Durango on the Florida Mesa, included farm tours and a growing selection of honey-enhanced jams, jellies, and the infamous Cinnamon Whipped Honey. Over the years, the demand for these Honeyville creations outgrew the supply their local bees could meet; so they now source honey from other Rocky Mountain region honey farms.
Honeyville Products
From raw honey comb to honey sticks and flavored syrups to drink mixes, the honey-based products made and sold here are seemingly endless. Pure Rocky Mountain honey is the base to almost all of these amazing treats thoughtfully paired with other local ingredients such as chokecherry, Palisade peaches, strawberries, apricots, apples, and more in jams, jellies, whipped butters, syrups, and dessert sauces.
Honey Mountain Bakery is their country classics baking line with tried and true classic mixes for pancakes & waffles, biscuits, cornbread, and sopapillas. Honey caramel kettle corn and honey roasted peanuts are two delicious snacks to try while flipping through one of their cookbooks.
Mead, a special honey based wine, is a specialty made at the Honey House Distillery, another Honeyville brand. Other spirits they distill on site include honey bourbon whiskey, honey vodka, cinnamon honey whiskey, cold brew coffee liqueur, and botanical gin. Try these straight, with one of their proprietary drink mixes, or in your own cocktail!
Visit Honeyville
Located in the picturesque Animas Valley, just ten miles north of Durango, you can visit the Honeyville Factory and Store. Here you can take a look inside a hive and find the queen bee, watch the team create a wide selection of products, and sample their wide selection of treats. Their inventory includes their homemade products as well as an assortment of other local goods, body care, wedding favors, and more bee gifts. Not to worry if you can’t take home everything you want to try, you can purchase their goods online as well.
