June 2026 Events

Summer in Southwest Colorado is in full swing, and with so many events and activities, it’s hard to pick just three to highlight! From live music performances, gardening groups, and stargazing to disco roller skating, art exhibits, the annual Animas River Day festivities, and much more - there’s something for everyone this coming month.

Mesa Verde 120th Anniversary

Founded in 1906, Mesa Verde National Park is celebrating its 120th Anniversary this year. To celebrate, the Mesa Verde Foundation is hosting a birthday party on June 6th at 6pm at the EsoTerra Arboretum. A $30 admission ticket includes music by two local bands, light appetizers, and access to EsoTerra’s variety of wines and ciders.

KSUT 50th Anniversary Party

KSUT Four Corners Public Radio, providing NPR News and Music Discovery, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a party at Ska Brewing. On June 12th at 7pm, Lady Liberty Lager and Shinyribs will take the stage at this free event!

Edible, Medicinal, and Poisonous Plant Walk at Nature Center

Southwest Colorado is filled with native fauna and flora, some of which have incredible health benefits. Join herbalist and biologist Marija Helt at the San Juan Mountain Association’s Durango Nature Center on June 27 at 8:30am to learn about edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants. This donation-based event is open to the public but requires a reservation. Closed toed shoes, layers, and snacks are recommended and dogs are requested to stay at home.
