Similar to referrals in other industries, a real estate referral occurs when your local RealtorⓇ connects you with another RealtorⓇ in your area of interest. Many brokers network with other brokers across the nation through conferences, travel, and other means. Through these connections, your real estate team now expands well beyond just your local market.
Do You Have to Pay Two Compensations?
No! Your RealtorⓇ and the referring broker communicate with each other, but using a referred broker doesn’t add any cost to the client. Once the connection is made, you’ll work solely with the local RealtorⓇ, and their compensation will be addressed through the buyer’s agreement or listing agreement.
