Fall in Durango, CO brings cooler weather and the start of the leaves changing color along with a wide variety of activities including live music, art, and cultural events.

 

Four Corners Alliance for Diversity is putting on the annual PRIDE Festival in Durango September 6-10. Four days of celebration will include the big party in Buckley Park on September 9th from 11am to 4pm. A parade will kick off the event down Main Avenue at 11 am and end in the park filled with vendors, music, drag performances, comedy, dance, and more.

 

Fall and art in Durango mix perfectly for the Annual Autumn Gallery Walk and the Durango Autumn Arts Festival. The Gallery Walk will consist of 12 galleries and the artists of the Smiley Building hosting open houses to showcase hundreds of artists accompanied by refreshments and live music on September 15th from 5 - 8pm. The Durango Arts Center is hosting their 29th Annual Autumn Arts Festival on September 16 - 17th on 2nd Avenue, open to the public from 10am to 5pm. Craft makers from around the country will gather, sell, socialize, and hopefully win best of show!

 

The Valkyrie Race is not for the faint of heart - it’s a seven part team race covering over 100 miles of Durango’s outdoor offerings. Kicking off at 6am on September 16th, the race includes trail running, mountain biking, stand up paddle boarding, open swimming, road cycling, canoe/kayaking, and road running. Individuals can compete in any leg of the race, as well as a shortened 69 mile sprint course available.
