Durango’s infamous Snowdown is rapidly approaching! To aid cabin fever and the winter blues, this week of silly events, productions, costumes, and more are sure to delight. From January 27th to February 5th, Durango will be filled with winter shenanigans. This year is the 44th annual celebration and the theme is “A Shakespearian Snowdown”.
The History
The event was started in 1979 by John Murrah and was organized by Terry Fiedler. In hopes to add winter tourism to all the local businesses and provide community events during these colder times, Snowdown was born. Over the years people from all over come to join in on the festivities making the idea a success.
