Opening early at 9am, the Manna Soup Kitchen is hosting a no-cost Thanksgiving meal open to anyone. There is dining space available to warm up and meet new friends or take it to go and enjoy elsewhere. They will be serving a classic Thanksgiving layout spread with turkey, chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, sausage stuffing, garden salad, fresh bread, and pie. Open until 1pm or until the food is gone, this 3rd annual community brunch is partnering with the Vineyard Church in delivering meals around town as well.
The Durango Turkey Trot, hosted by Durango Running Club and presented by Animas Surgical Hospital offers an opportunity to burn calories and make room for a delicious meal after. Starting at the Fort Lewis Clocktower at 10am, there is a 5 mile option and a free 1 mile kids’ race! The 5 mile loop will take you around Hillcrest Golf Course, up to the City Reservoir, and back to the clocktower. Benefiting local charities, this is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday.
