Bayfield is a quaint town centrally located between Durango, Pagosa Springs, Vallecito Reservoir, and Ignacio, Colorado. With the Pine River running through, there is a strong farm & ranch culture with a growing population. A full pre-K through high school education system accompanied by many additional childcare and after-school activities enhance the opportunities in town. Mill Street is the “Main Street” housing local businesses and events such as the 4th of July Parade.
In town limits, there are 14 distinct subdivisions with a variety of housing. Established in 1906, some neighborhoods, like the downtown district, have been there since the beginning while new subdivisions like Mustang Crossing are just beginning construction. The town’s new construction has opened up many affordable housing possibilities with the assistance of HomesFund and other mortgage assistance programs.
In the Pine River Valley, the stars shine bright and the opportunities are abundant. The quick access to nature from the town’s open spaces to neighboring lakes and reservoirs makes for true Colorado living.
