One of the best ways to spend a gorgeous day outside in Durango, CO is on the golf course. Luckily, there are multiple choices when it comes to golf courses in Durango, and even more in Southwest Colorado.
Hillcrest Golf Club
Golfing & Amenities
Right in town in Durango, on the Fort Lewis College Mesa, this 18 hole golf course overlooks the city below and the La Plata Mountains create a stunning backdrop. Hillcrest Golf Course’s clubhouse, driving range, training facilities, and indoor simulator are open seven days a week. Booking tee times is easy on their website for groups of four with golf cart options at affordable rates with season passes also available. Established in 1969, the course is also walkable and offers a relaxed atmosphere. Throughout the season they host many events, tournaments, and offer professional lessons. The deli & grille provides golfers with homemade bites and the golf shop has everything you need to be prepared for the course.

Hillcrest Golf Course is accessible from many intown neighborhoods, some of the closest include Hillcrest; The Villas at Hillcrest and Hillcrest Greens where some homes face the course; Skyridge; many condo complexes, and the downtown grid just down the hill from the course. Fort Lewis College also neighbors the course offering easy access for students and faculty.
Dalton Ranch

Nestled in the Animas Valley along the Animas River, just 9 miles north of downtown, Dalton Ranch is a 250 acre property with an 18 hole course. For both members and public play (depending on availability), proper golf attire is required to enjoy the green. Additional onsite amenities include pickleball courts; tennis courts; a gym; a swimming pool; and Alce’ Restaurant. Dalton is a staple in the Durango community and hosts many community events and more at their premiere venue.

North Dalton Ranch is the original neighborhood which is accessed on the same side of Trimble Lane as the clubhouse. South Dalton Ranch is the second development on the south side of Trimble Lane. The newest addition is West Dalton Ranch, currently being built out with many homesites still available. Single family homes and townhomes can be found throughout these neighborhoods with some offering direct access to the fairway.
The Glacier Club

18 miles north of Durango and 10 miles south of Purgatory Ski Resort, Glacier Club is the premiere Durango golf club. Tucked away in the San Juan Mountains, this members’ only club features two clubhouses, three swimming pools, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and three dining options. There are four Glacier Club membership levels with limited availability: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Depending on membership level, access to The Valley Course and Mountain Course opens up possibilities for both 18 or 36 holes. Non-members are able to golf these courses only with an invite from current members.

Real estate around The Glacier Club and Tamarron includes mountain modern single family homes, townhomes, condos, and cabins spanning from 450 to 8,000+ square feet. The views from these are unbeatable whether on the fairway or offering 360 degree views from Glacier Cliffs. Some properties being sold in Glacier Club come with a membership. Southwest Colorado Golf Courses
Nearby to Durango, Cortez is home to two golf courses: Conquistador Golf Club (18 hole) and The South Forty (9 hole). In Pagosa Springs, the Pagosa Springs Golf Club provides 27 holes to enjoy. There are also golf courses to explore in Ridgway and Telluride, Colorado, as well as south into Farmington, New Mexico, which is within an hour drive of Durango.
