The 2024 National Football League (NFL) season is about to begin, and the Denver Broncos are gearing up for their 65th year in action!
The Team
Bo Nix (draft pick number 12), Zach Wilson, and Jarrett Stidham (2023 QB) are in the running for starting quarterback. With 73 players on the preseason roster, there will be 20 more cuts to get down to the final 53 player line up. A running back battle between Javonte Williams, Samje Perine, and four others is underway to secure the starting position.
Sean Payton is the head coach this year, the franchise’s 20th in history. He has a 34 year coaching career including the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles. Paul Kelly is the assistant head coach and they are supported by 26 other coordinators, quality control, specialists, and strength and conditioning staff.
2024 Schedule
Going into the 2024 season, the Denver Broncos are seated in the American Football Conference (AFC) West with a (W-L-T) 508-465-10 record. They have three Super Bowl titles under their belt, most recently in 2015, and eight total appearances.
Preseason games start August 11, 2024 with the first game kicking off at 11am against the Indianapolis Colts. The regular season starts September 8th against the Seattle Seahawks followed by 12 more games before their bye week and four games after, completing the 18 week season. We hope to see the Broncos appear in the playoffs this year either as the AFC West team or wild card!
Mile High Stadium
Located in the middle of Broncos Country, the home turf at Mile High Stadium is 335 miles from Durango. Built in 2001, Empower Field at Mile High Stadium hosts 76,125 fans watching the teams play on Kentucky Bluegrass. Here you can enjoy time-honored traditions such as stomping mile high thunder and watching Thunder - the team’s Arabian Stallion mascot - and Miles - the human mascot - run on the field.
