There are countless ways to decorate your home, from color choices to design themes and everything in between. Whether you are looking for a subtle refresh or bold transformation, keeping up with current trends can inspire your space. Here’s a look at some of the current trends and minimalistic decor that we’ve seen recently - many of which we’ve even used in our own staging!
Colors of the Year
Each year, major paint brands announce their custom “Color of the Year”. These selections are based on past trends while predicting the styles for the coming year. In looking at this year’s lineup, darker earth tones have entered the building…literally!
Benjamin Moore
Cinnamon Slate 2113-40 is their 2025 color which is described as a "delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown”. It’s dark yet colorful, warm but not in your face, and very earthy. Benjamin Moore recommends pairing it with Sea Salt, a darker grey/cream; Leather Saddle Brown, a light brown; Chowning’s Tan, a medium tan; Tissue Pink, a muted rosé; Stained Glass, stone spruce; Ashwood Moss, dark grey with a hint of green; Rosepine, slate olive; Paris Rain, a light tea green; and Glacier White, a true cream.
Behr
For those who love a statement, Rumors MQ1-15 is a warm and rich ruby red that’s deep and elegant. It contrasts beautifully with crisp whites and brushed black or gold finishes. The accompanying palette includes similar tones to Benjamin Moore’s with both darker greys, blues, and greens as well as more pastel pinks, greens, and browns. With both a flat and satin finish option, you can choose a shiny accent or more matte option for larger areas. Combining both adds even more depth to the color itself.
Sherwin-Williams
Sherwin-Williams picks not just one but nine colors of 2025 creating their “Color Capsule of the Year”. These nine include Grounded, a true medium brown; Sunbleached, an airy cream; Chartreuse, a light and vibrant yellow-green; Rain Cloud, a stormy grey-blue; Clove, a dark brown that’s nearly black; Malabar, a sandy beige; Bosc Pear, a mute gold; White Snow, a pure cream; and Mauve Finery, a mauve lavender purple. Inspired by organic elements, these colors mix and match to create a dreamy interior.
Fixtures, Furniture, and Feng Shui
From door handles, drawer knobs, and light switches to light fixtures, countertops, and tiled accents, there are limitless ways to personalize your home’s aesthetic. Beyond fixed design elements, furniture opens up a whole new world filled with colors, materials, sizes, and more to think about. Feng shui takes it a step further and guides you on the best way to design and arrange a room to enhance harmony and balance within a space.
