Made with a simple base mixture of cream, milk, vanilla, and sugar, ice cream offers endless possibilities! This classic summer - or really, all-season - staple is easy to enjoy in Durango! From local creameries to well-known chains, make sure to treat yourself at these Durango ice cream shops.
Cream Bean Berry
Starting as an ice cream cart on the Animas River Trail, Cream Bean Berry has been serving artisan ice cream from its current location on Main Street since 2015. Their homemade, small-batch, flavorful ice cream is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, with locally sourced products used whenever possible. Unique seasonal flavors and classics range from vanilla, Belgian chocolate, and salted caramel to honey lavender, mixed berry crisp, and orange blossom pistachio. They also offer a rotating menu of vegan and dairy-free options. Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of their business model, with recyclable, compostable, and reusable options, including a glass growler program that offers a great deal on ice cream. Milkshakes, coffee drinks, baked goods, ice cream cakes, and ice cream pies are additional options when you’re craving something beyond a traditional scoop. Don’t forget to check out their ice cream Airstream, open during the summer in the North Homeslice parking lot.
Jimmy’s
Soft serve ice cream and waffle dogs are just the beginning of what Jimmy’s World Famous Soft Serve has to offer. Ice cream charcuterie, milkshakes, ice cream nachos, banana splits, and other seasonal treats can be enjoyed at their downtown storefront at 6th Ave. and Main Ave. Homemade waffle cones can be filled with creamy soft serve and your choice of toppings, such as fruit, cheesecake, Fruit Loops, cookies, cereal, peanut butter, caramel, whipped cream, and sprinkles. They also have an ice cream trailer located at the Powerhouse during the summer months.
